JAPAN MUSEUMS - AN ILLUMINATING EXPERIENCE

https://www.facebook.com/100001173571010/posts/1970517106330723?sfns=mo

It is my 3rd Academic Tour in Japan, and in every visit I always find myself in awe. Years have passed and Japan progressed more compared to my last visit.

Japan's culture and history is written all-over Japan. In every corner, as in literally, aside from their unique handwriting that anyone can see as they walk, a poster board on the road will tell you an upcoming Japanese play or concert at what time and where will it be shown. The Japanese character of patience and calmness is obvious in subways and personal acquaintances. Eating ramen and Yoshinoya's authentic gyudon is such an experience knowing that the Japanese have been eating such foods way back in the late 1800's. The price of their fruits are expensive but it is equivalent to its farmed in Japan freshness and sweetness especially their apples and oranges.

As an educator I see to it that I would bring something that I can share to my students. I thought I have already seen and experienced enough of Japan not until I visited their museums, with Japanese school children jotting down notes of their own Nobel Peace Prized Japanese scientists. They have at least more than 10 top notch scientists and there are others who are on their way to add to their endless pursuit of scientific investigation.

Museums big and small, they have it in every city, and if you cannot find one there will always be a pocket shrine or mini temple to remind a visitor that he or she is in Japan.

Japan's museums offer us a glimpse of their past, present and future. Japan certainly is very patient and meticulous, well researched and highly intelligent, organized and detailed in building and maintaining their museums. Japan museums are not cramped, each museum artifact is well documented and  intensively studied. Even the smallest fruit fly did not go unnoticed.

What are some amazing facts about Japan that I have learned in visiting their museums? Here are some pictures that are allowed to be taken as long as you turnoff your flash. A trick! To see the pictures clearly try to zoom in and enlarge to its best possible sight.
